I just went to the MazdaUSA site to config a 2014 3. I think the site is broken, you cannot get the a 3s 2.5L with a manual trans. Not you Mazda....not you.

Supposedly that's a "first year release" decision, and that will be added later. Supposedly.

I hope it gets added down the line.

Every other top trim car in the segment has one, if for nothing else just to appease the enthusiasts who do end up buying them.

Hell, even Ford just barely added a manual to the Titanium Focus, but they did do it and people were pleased.

Yeah I also experienced this website glitch. If they don't get it sorted soon, I'm going to be pretty worried about them.

My only real issue with the new 3 is the price. I have a 3s Grand Touring 5-door, with 6-speed and it came in at about 24,500. While the new one has some more goodies than I got, it does not justify the price jump

My bigger/biggest problem is that a VW GTI will be coming in at a lower MSRP, 2 or 4 door hatch, and even when you option the 4 door out completely it isn't significantly more than the naturally aspirated 3.

Not saying that most people will jump to that comparison, but you can get its a comparison that will get made over and over and over and over.

For me, ignoring German vs. Japanese reliability, on a new car I'd have to think long and hard on how badly I want a 3 when the arguable more refined GTI could technically be had for even less.
